Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of children’s books: Jak zostałam wiedźmą. Opowieść autobiograficzna dla dorosłych i dzieci [How I Became a Witch: An Autobiographical Story for Adults and Children] (2014) by Dorota Masłowska and Zaufanie [Trust] (2015) by Anna Cieplak and Lidia Ostałowska, which are examined in relation to the mainstream body of their work intended for a universal audience. The research focuses on the place of these books in the authors' oeuvre – whether and how the above-mentioned writers use their previously developed artistic language in children’s books, how they engage with the topics they are interested in, and to what extent these books are consistent with the mainstream body of their work, and what connections the analysed children’s texts demonstrate with contemporary cultural issues.
