Abstract

The article is an attempt at outlining Sorbian themes in the press published in Katowice in the period from 1945 to 2020, with particular focus on the last thirty years. The author reconstructs the reception of Sorbian literature and culture after the Second World to discuss contents of local cultural magazines and the daily press (i. a. „Odra”, „Przemiany”, „Poglądy”, „Śląsk”, „Trybuna  Robotnicza”, „Trybuna Śląska”). Traces of Sorbian works in Upper Silesia are indicated as well, underlining relations and contacts between Sorbian writers and the journalists and writers from Katowice. Individual articles and contributions about themes from Lusatia in regional periodicals and local and daily newspapers are examined.
