Aims and scope
"Zeszyty Łużyckie" ("Sorbian Papers"), established 1991, is an academic journal publishing scholarly articles devoted to problems of minorities sensu largo. Our authors' scope of interests encompasses both the minorities institutionally recognized and perceived as "traditional" (i.e. national, ethnic, linguistic, and religious minorities), and those whose minority status is in the course of dynamic (re-)constitution and remains to be defined (as is often the case with social, cultural, political, and other minorities).
The authors of consecutive, thematically divided issues of the journal aim at defining minorities in their categorial and particular dimension, studying the cultural and historical contexts and their different manifestations in their relational and singular aspect.
It is in view of this conception of the 'minority' as a category that "Zeszyty Łużyckie" is now open to contributions from scholars in culture studies, linguistics, literary theory, history, art history, religion, as well as other researchers within the field of human sciences whose academic interests fit the profile described here.
Our profile does not impose geographic or thematic limitations. Keeping in mind the journal's heritage as a Sorbian-themed publication, we have created a Sorabiana section in every issue, where articles and reviews in Sorbian studies are published.
All articles undergo external double-blind peer review, are indexed, and freely available without subscription or fees.
