On some idiosyncratic valencies: evidence from English and Bulgarian

Abstrakt

W artykule skupiono się na walencji idiomów i konstrukcjach czasowników o ograniczonym znaczeniu, ponieważ wykazują one pewne cechy szczególne. Do walencji podchodzi się z kilku perspektyw: poprzez transfer wiedzy z angielskich zasobów leksykalnych do bułgarskich, poprzez wykorzystanie niektórych dostępnych bułgarskich zasobów leksykalnych oraz poprzez zestawienie ról semantycznych (agens, patiens, temat itp.), typów argumentów (true, default, shadow) i typy czasowników (verb.contact, verb. social itp.). W ramach idiosynkrazji omawia się również niektóre zastosowania metaforyczne. Wykazano, że jeśli są dostępne, synonimy idiomów i konstrukcji czasowników o ograniczonym znaczeniu przedstawiają tylko część idiosynkratycznego znaczenia. Po zastosowaniu do rzeczywistych danych potwierdzono, że zestaw ról semantycznych może pozostać niezmieniony kosztem wyeliminowania ograniczeń semantycznych (+/- Animate, +/- Concrete itp.), jeśli takie istnieją.
