Abstract

This article addresses the post-pandemic changes in the young adult book market in Poland, both in terms of Polish books and translated foreign titles. The thesis of the text posits that changes in this segment began after the post-1989 democratic transition, when books from the USA reached Poland and then became a point of reference for a new generation of readers born in a free country. The author highlights the pandemic period as a key stage in the transformation of young adult literature due to the noticeable increase in reader interest during this time and the intensified efforts of publishers. These transformations primarily involve changes in the way of thinking about the publishers of young adult literature, which began to be treated as brands, the development of bookmedia (such as Bookstagram and BookTok), and the emergence of Polish authors from the Wattpad platform on the book market.
